Mission Bayfest 2024: Reviving San Diego’s Iconic 90s Festivals with 3 Days.

Introduction

In the 90s, San Diego’s Mission Bay was the heart of summer music festivals, hosting iconic events like The Mission Bay Summer Concert Series, Vans Warped Tour, X-Games, MTV’s “Rock the Vote,” and OMBAC Coming Out Party. These legendary festivals have paved the way for today’s music scene, inspiring events like San Diego Bayfest, which celebrated its fifth year with Sublime in July, and the third annual Mission Bayfest. Other notable concerts include shows at Petco Park and Beach House, produced by OutsideShows.

Since its inception, Bayfest has built a strong community of reggae fans who gather in San Diego’s scenic parks for a vibrant atmosphere. The festival is led by three passionate locals: Joe Rinaldi, managing partner at Music Box; Dominic Coleman, owner of Single Fin Surf Grill; and DJ Mikey Beats. A partner at Sleeping Giant Music.

Recently, Riley Hagey, son of San Diego Street Scene founder Rob Hagey, joined the production team, adding to the festival’s legacy. “Growing up in the industry, I learned the value of family and hard work,” says Riley.

Mission Bayfest 2024 Details

The third annual Mission Bayfest will take place from September 27-29, 2024, at Mariner’s Point Park. The festival promises a resort-like experience with lush landscapes, sandy shores. Stunning views of the San Diego skyline and Mission Bay.

Mission Bayfest 2024 Lineup

With over 30 acts, this year’s lineup includes Stick Figure, Tribal Seeds, Iration, Pepper, Cypress Hill, and Wiz Khalifa. A new second stage, the Under the Bridge Stage, adds to the expanded three-day event.
